68 Hours of HungerThe Dover NJROTC Unit held its second trick or treat canned food drive for End 68 Hours of Hunger. Instead of trick or treating for candy cadets asked for non-perishable items to donate. End 68 Hours of Hunger is a non-profit organization across the Nation that gives students food from the time they get school lunch on Friday to breakfast Monday morning. The period between those two meals is 68 hours. The goal of the NJROTC unit was to ease the burden on this organization. This year the unit collected over 1,400 lbs of food for End 68 Hours of Hunger. The top collector was Nick Thompson with 203 lbs. The second, third, and fourth were Justin Holt with 167 lbs, Emma Payette with 146 lbs, and Zarek Blair with 103 lbs. A special thanks to Cadet Jordan Taylor and Cadet Alison Duranceau for organizing the event. The timing couldn’t have been better to replenish the shelves at 68 Hours of Hunger in preparation of the upcoming holiday season.
