Community Service is a very important part of the NJROTC program. It instills a sense of giving and involvement to your lives, your school, and your community. The time you spend volunteering and helping shows not only that you're willing to give your time (a precious commodity), but that you as a NJROTC Cadet take pride in giving back and making this world a little better one hour at a time! This is an assignment and you will be graded on completion, but my hope is that you take pride in yourself and feel the great feeling of helping someone or an organization out and it turns into a regular part of your daily life.

Requirements:
Semester 1 - 20 hours of community related service. Total = 20 hours
Semester 2 - 20 hours of community related service. Total = 20 hours

Examples of school community service: Helping the school cleaning crew after school, Seymour Osman Community Center (SOCC), Interact Club at DHS, clean bleachers, DHS Rock sign, or anything else that donates your time to any school or school function.

Examples of community service: Pease Greeters, 68 Hour of Hunger, Haunted Overload, Cocheco Valley Humane Society, USS Albacore, community trails, festival of lights, toys for tots, Special Olympics, host a food drive, blanket drive, or anything else that donates your time to any person or organization.

Bottom Line: This is very open ended - it's the actions that speak volume not so much how!
