Student of the Week

This week Dover High School recognizes senior Maggie Berry. Maggie is an outstanding student. She has challenged herself with a rigorous schedule of honors and advanced placement classes and is in the top 5% of her class. Along with her academic prowess, she has participated in soccer, unified basketball, and lacrosse. This combination led to her being recognized by the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) as a scholar-athlete. Maggie participates in the Latin Club and has been a member of the Red Cross Club. She is a positive leader whose actions help cultivate a respectful, engaging school environment.

Obligations

We continually reach out to students and families who have obligations by email and physical letters mailed to a student's residence. Our food service provider, Fresh Picks CafĂ©, sends out emails to the families of students who have a lunch balance. Students should make sure make sure all books, equipment, and uniforms have been returned and they have paid their lunch balance to avoid an obligation. Obligations impact the purchase of parking passes, dance and prom tickets, and graduation. Students may return items or pay off balances in the Main Office between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.  Please contact Ms. Cunio at  [email protected]. if you have any questions or need to update an email address.

Parking

As spring approaches, we have more and more students, including sophomores getting their licenses. Our parking policies were developed with input from students and have School Board approval.

For juniors, we have 167 parking spaces between J Lot/Bellamy (99) and Fire Lot (68). Those spaces are assigned by lottery. We sold out of those spaces two weeks into school.

For seniors we have 229 spaces between the front of the school, the tennis courts, and Daley Drive. We currently have a few spaces remaining in the tennis court lot. Those spaces are reserved for seniors who will get their license between now and the end of the year. This is an important part of our policy that was supported by our students and the Board. We often have sold out of senior spaces by this time.

Sophomores are not allowed to park on campus so that juniors and seniors have access to these spaces.

Students who are looking to park around campus need to be aware of streets that are posted no parking during the school day. They also need to be aware that with the better weather approaching, the disc golf course will be used during the school day. The area off of Route 155 and inside the Disc Golf Park gate are managed by the city and they could potentially enforce parking there. Students should not be parking there.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to manage our parking and be a good neighbor the community around us.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up

You will noticed we have posted new signage at Alumni Drive and Daley Drive and Daley Drive and the access road behind the school. We want to remind people that this is not an area to drop off or pick up students. Dover High School's Student Services buses drop off students behind the school. We have had many instances of people passing buses and other unsafe conditions created by students walking in that area. The road is only for buses and delivery vehicles. Please arrange to drop off and pick up your students in another area. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to keep all our students safe.
